Rankey Mela 2019

Srawney Sakranti which marks the begining of Srawan month is being celebrated as Rankey Mela this time with much funfare, praying for good harvest of our crops during the monsoon to save ourselves from starvation and famine culminating in the torching of devil Rankey in the evening hours who otherwise, legend has it, destroys our prospect of good harvest.
This continues with Rural sports, rituals and musical programs the following day with grease pole event being the main attraction.
Honble Chief Minister shri PS Goley has kindly consented to grace this occasion as our Chief Guest with our Honble Speaker as our Guest of honour.
