Aspirational Block Programme meeting at DAC, Namchi
Namchi, 21st September:A meeting with regards to Aspirational Block Programme (ABP), initiated by NITI Aayog was held at DAC, Namchi. This meeting was attended by AD (NITI Aayog) Mr. Baskar Jyoti accompained by DC (Namchi) Mr. M. Bharani Kumar, Assistant Collector Mr. Pulkit, Director (SIRD& PR) Mr.Vishal Mukhia, ADC( Dev) Soreng Mr. Pegga and BLOs of Namchi , Chumboong and Chongrang block.
AD (NITI Aayog) Mr. Baskar Jyoti briefly noted to assist the BLOs in preparing the Block Development Strategy (BDS). He added in detail how the interventions are to be carried forward to bring about saturation to all the critical gaps diagnosed during Chintan Shivir. He emphasized the BDS to be prepared within 25th September and uploaded by 30th September, 2023 at NITI Aayog portal.
BDO (Namchi) Mr. N.P. Bhutia presented about ABP which was carried out at Namchi Block. He also informed as to how the BDS are being prepared through power presentation mode.

Concluding 6th day Chintan Shivir on Aspirational Block Programme for Namchi block conducted at Village Administrative Centres at Assangthang and Mickkhola Singhithang
Namchi, 15th September: As per the direction of the DC Namchi District , Shri M. Bharani, the concluding 6th day Chintan Shivir on Aspirational Block Programme for Namchi block was conducted today at Village Administrative Centres at Assangthang and Mickkhola Singhithang respectively.
The slogan for the program was ‘Aspire to Inspire’. The programme was attended by Hon’ble Zilla and Gram Panchayat members of both GPUs. Headmasters of Schools representatives from various line departments, SHG members, AWWs, and ICDS members alongwith general publics of respective GPUs.
Informing about the program, WO, Namchi said that Namchi block is amongst 500 blocks selected under the Aspirational Block Program by NITI AAYOG, Govt. of India . He also informed that 3 blocks from Sikkim has been selected as Aspirational Blocks. The Aspirational Block Programme is monitored by Niti Aayog.
The programme will be focusing on 9 sectors , 5 themes and 39 key Indicators . The 9 sectors are as follows: Health, Nutrition, Education, Agriculture, Social Development, Basic Infrastructure, Drinking Water, Sanitation and Financial inclusion.
Furthermore, he also informed that the objective of the program is to make a Block Development Strategies (BDS) finding the critical gaps and outline the priorities in each sector of the blocks and services that will be offered to public while making the best possible use of existing resources and bring saturation . The steering committee under the chairmanship of District Collector, Namchi has been formed comprising of Head of office of Namchi District to supervise and monitor the task based upon the people’s need. The Chintan shivir would help to bring stake holders together to analyse the existing situation , identify and prioritise key interventions for key sectors and agree on strategy for accelerated implementation of schemes .
The date line to submitt the BDS setup by NITI Aayog is 2nd of October 2023 and to bring all saturation to the basic need of society is 2 years, he added.
The gathering was divided into 5 groups according to the themes and was made to discuss about the indicators and bring up the strength, weaknesses, opportunities ..A leader among the group was chosen and in the later part , the leader deliberated their outcomes of discussion .
In the end CDPO also briefed about the program and requested all Honble representatives and public to coordinate with the officials to bring fruitful result and inspire others .

4th day Chintan Shivir on Aspirational Block program
Namchi,10th September: Chintan shivir was held at two GPUs (Kitam Manpur GPU and Sorok Shyampani GPU) respectively. As per the schedule of the program to be conducted under Chintan Shivir, this is the 4th day on Aspirational Block Program.
The program at both the venue was attended by Hon’ble Zilla Panchayats and Hon’ble Gram Panchayats of respective GPUs, School heads, ASHA workers, Health and Wellness Incharge along with a huge number of public.
The program is scheduled in such a way that everyone loves to be a part of the activities undertaken. Participants involved in the activities enthusiastically share and discuss the themes given.
Namchi Block is now left with 6 GPUs to be covered and will be concluding on 15th September 2023

Second day Chintan Shivir on the Aspirational Block program held in two GPUs (Maniram Phalidara and Boomtar Salleybong GPU respectively)
Namchi, 5th September: The second day Chintan Shivir on the Aspirational Block program was held in two GPUs (Maniram Phalidara and Boomtar Salleybong GPU respectively).
The Shivir was attended by Hon’ble Zilla Panchayat Mr. Passang Lepcha, Gram Panchayats from both the GPUs along with the Assistant Collector Mr. Pulkit, BDO Namchi, Block Level Officers of all the departments, Headmaster, Headmistress, Teachers from different schools, Stakeholders from different Deptt posted at field level and public of all the wards .
The stakeholders and public participated enthusiastically in the Shivir. Among them, a group leader was chosen on five themes who presented on the theme indicators decided by the group and spoke about the strength, weaknesses, opportunities and threat of the indicators chosen by them.

Meeting regarding the formation of the Steering Committee for the Aspirational Block Program of Namchi block held at the office of District Magistrate
Namchi, 4th September: A meeting regarding the formation of the Steering Committee for the Aspirational Block Program of Namchi block was held at the office of Districts Magistrate, Namchi.
The meeting was chaired by DM, Shri M.Bharani along with the District Heads of Education, Health, Agriculture, AH& VS, Horticulture, Welfare and Rural Development Departments.
During the meeting, the District Magistrate highlighted the importance of the Aspirational Block program initiated by NITI Aayog, Govt. of India. He informed all the concerned departments about the submission of data of the district as well as the block level considering indicators as framed by the NITI Aayog.
As per the direction of NITI Aayog, Steering Committee for ABP was formed under the chairmanship of District Magistrate to work upon and guide the field officials in preparation of Block Development strategy in bringing saturation to all indicators.
