Co-ordination meeting regarding “Block-Level Health Mela” conducted at the chamber of DC (Namchi)

Namchi, 4 April(IPR): A co-ordination meeting regarding “Block-Level Health Mela” was conducted at the chamber of DC (Namchi), today.
The meeting was chaired by DC(Namchi) Mr. M. Bharani Kumar, ADC ( ADM) Mr.Satyan Pradhan, CMO(Namchi), Dr. D.C. Sharma, BDOs and official from different line department.
During the meeting it was discussed that Health and Family welfare Department, Namchi will be organising ‘Block- Level Health Melas’ between 18th and 22nd April at various GPUs in the district. This mela is a part of the celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mohotsav and during this health mela essential drugs and diagnostic services shall be provided free of cost.
The objective of health mela are as follows:
a) Increase health awareness for the prevention of various communicable and non-communicable diseases.
b) Provide screening for early diagnosis and basic health care services including referral, specialised services and diagnostic services.
c) Encourage people through mass media activities to make postive health behaviour.
d) Make people aware of different health and family welfare programs and various systems of medicine being undertaken by the government.
e) To inform people about the different system of medicine (Allopathy, Homeopathy, Ayurveda and Unani etc).
Health Mela in Namchi District shall be held accordingly:
18th April – Yangang (Community Hall, Lingmoo)
19th April – Temi (Temi Tea Garden)
20th April – Rabongla ( Community Hall, Rabongla)
21st April – Melli (Sumbuk BAC) and Namthang (Bal Krishna Kasaju Senior Secondary school,Namthang)
22nd April – Jorethang (Poklok Kamrang GPK) andTokel Bermiok (Namphing Secondary School)
