Block Health Mela Concludes at Namchi District

Namchi, 22nd April(IPR): The block level health mela which commenced from April 18th concluded today at Namchi District.This mela has being organized by the Health and Family Welfare Department in continuation of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ under the guidance of Health Ministry.
Minister for Urban Development Department Mr. Arun Upreti inaugurated the health mela at Nandugaon Senior Secondary School (Jorethang) while Chairman Temi Tea Board Mr. Tashi Tshering Bhutia ushered in the health mela at Namphing Secondary School at Tokal-Bermiok.
This mela wrapped up at Namphing Secondar School and at Nandugaon Senior Secondary School (Jorethang) with a footfall of 466 and 782 respectively.
Present amongst other at both these venues were DNO CPHC cum DSO (South) Dr. Urgen Sherpa, DTO (South) Dr. Anju Rai, Medical Officer Incharge Tokal-Bermiok PHC Dr. Rinzing Ongmu Bhutia, Medical Officer Incharge Jorethang CHC Dr. Alin Subba, AAYUSH, ASHA, AWW, IEC and other stakeholders.
The health mela is a platform to create awareness on the healthcare facilities and benefits provided by the Governments to the public at large and was focused on general health check-up, screening, treatment, registration of various categories and many more classifications. This pivot of this five day health mela was on Ayushman Bharat- Health and Wellness Centres, facilitate creation of Unique Health ID under Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and other health based information which was shared with the visiting patients
