2nd Day of Yuva Sangam, under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat

Namchi, 4th March(IPR): The second day of Yuva Sangam, a programme of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ under the Ministry of Education , Government of India, organised by National Institute Technology(NIT) Ravangla saw the delegates from Odisha visit various tourist as well as other attractions under Namchi District, today.
The 31 students from various colleges along with 5 Coordinators from Odisha was accompanied by Nodal Officer(NIT) Mr. Ram Nepal and staff from NIT Ravangla.
The students commenced their journey from ‘Temi Tea Estate’, at the Estate they were briefed regarding the processing unit, wherein Mr. Saroj Rai (Tourist Guide) highlighted in detail about orthodox process used in manufacturing the only organic tea of Sikkim. He explained the step by step operation of the production of Temi Tea which includes Withering, Rolling, Fermentation, Drying and Sorting of leaves. Further, they also visited Aansham Kutir Homestay of Mr. Tej Kumar Poudyal at Temi Tarku and interacted with the set of progressive organic farmers of Jaubari.
Later, the students also visited and offered their obeisance at Siddheswara Dham.
The delegates from Odisha will in coming days visit Gangtok and traverse the diverse aspects in and around the capital. It may be mentioned that ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat’, Yuva Sangam will strengthen people-to-people bonds, mainstream the vibrant culture of the north-eastern states and bring immense exposure and opportunities for knowledge exchange. Additionally, a total of 21 states are participating in this venture where Sikkim is paired with Odisha state.
