Namchi 15th June (IPR): The campaign for Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF) commenced from today, onwards at District Hospital, Namchi. IDCF is being organized from June 15th to 29th with an objective to reduce and eliminate deaths in children caused by diarrhoea.
Zilla Adhakshya (Namchi) Miss. Anjeeta Rai, was the chief guest for the occasion. Also present were CMO (Namchi) Dr. D. C. Sharma, District Medical Superintendent (Namchi) Dr. S. N. Adhikari, JD (Education Department) Mr. G. P. Sharma, CDPO (Namchi) Mr. Laxman Tamang, Senior DPHNO Ms. Bijaylaxmi Rai and representatives from ASHA alongwith health staff.
The programme saw information dissemination on diarrhoea which is preventable by following proper measures and by seeking medical treatment. During the programme, ASHA members conducted a demonstration on the preparation of Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS). Additionally, they announced their commitment of distributing 8500 ORS packets throughout the duration of IDCF.They also highlighted the importance of hand washing and maintaining a good hygiene and exhibited proper hand-washing techniques using the SUMANK hand-wash method.
