One day awareness cum sensitization programme on Child Rights and Child Legislation organised by District Child Protection Unit, Namchi in Sumbuk Senior Secondary School

Namchi, 21st June: One day awareness cum sensitization programme on Child Rights and Child Legislation was organised by District Child Protection Unit, Namchi, Women and Child Development Department, in Sumbuk Senior Secondary School, Namchi on 20th June.
The programme had presence of Chief Education Officer, Shri. Inbaraj, Joint Director (Jorethang, Sub- Division) Shri.D.B Rai, Additional Superintendent of Police, (Namchi) Shri. Parsu Sharma, Assistant Director (Sumbuk BAC) Shri. Pranai Pradhan, Mental Health Expert Ms. Neeta Silwal, Resource person Ms. Marina Lepcha, along with Principal, teachers and students of Sumbuk Senior Secondary School.
During the programme DCPO (Namchi) highlighted in brief on the various aspects of Mission Vatsalya which is a Child Protection Scheme under Women and Child Development Department.
She further emphasized on the preventative measures to be taken to identify the children in difficult circumstances.
The main objective of the programme was to provide a safe and protective environment for the children in need of care and protection.
The Programme was also presented and addressed by the key resource persons on various issues, such as child rights, child legislations, mental health issues and many more.
