Dam Site inspection at Hingdam in compliance to the DAM Safety Act 2021

Namchi, 2nd August(IPR): A Team comprising SDM (Ravangla) Mr. Sisum Wangchuk Bhutia , DPO (Namchi) Mr. Saran D. Kalikotey, DPO (DDMA) (Namchi) Mr.B.B Rai, Officials and representative from NHPC Hydro project visited and inspected the Dam Site at Hingdam. This inspection was done in compliance to the DAM Safety Act 2021 and Home Departments Notification No.26./Home /2015 Dated 22/6/2015 prescribing the guidelines of Public Safety at Hydro Power Project.
The visiting team sensitized and checked the existing guidelines put in place by the State Government and to assure proper compliance. The periodic inspection and evaluation of Dams and reservoirs is of considerable importance for public Safety residing below the Dams site.The visiting teams also checked the standing operating procedure (SOP) and sought the Disaster Management plan of the Hydro Project.
