Ravong- Barfung Gram Panchayat Unit celebrated Meri Maati Meri Desh (MMMD) at Kewzing Tea Garden Primary School

Namchi, 14th August: Ravong- Barfung Gram Panchayat Unit celebrated Meri Maati Meri Desh (MMMD) at Kewzing Tea Garden Primary School, New Sada ward at Ravangla, today.
The celebration started with the inauguration of Shilaphalakam, the memorial plaque by Chief Guest MLA Shri Tashi Thendup Bhutia followed by hoisting of the National flag.
As part of the campaign, Panchayat member Pavitra Chhetri also administered the “Pancha Pran” pledge where the dignitaries present during the occasion took an oath to make India a developed nation by 2047, end slavery mentality, take pride in India’s rich heritage. Let us maintain unity and solidarity, fulfill our duties as citizens and honor those who defended the nation at the memorial.
Also, the program called for to salute freedom fighters, in which Ex. HAV. Kumarsinh Chhetri, Ex Subisar Feroze Rai and Police Officer Ravangla SI Mr. Rajeev Bhujal of Ravong-Barfung Gram Panchayat Unit were honored under the Veeron Ka Vandan programme.
In the event, 75 saplings were planted under the Vasudha Bandan programme.
Also present amongst others were Zilla panchayat member Ms. Jasoda Chhetri, JD (Education) Mr. Suraj Rai, Agriculture Inspector Ms. Aarti Sharma, Panchayat pPresident Mr. Rup Maya Rai, vice-president Ms. Sarita Thatal, ward panchayat Mr. Suraj Chhetri, Panchayat Member Mr. Karma Pintso Bhutia, School’s Head Master Mr. Mingma Sherpa School teachers, students, panchayat staff and other local villagers were present.
