Annual General meeting (AGM) of Rong Bul Farmers Producers Cooperative Society Ltd a CSS FPO implemented by KVK South Sikkim as CBBO

Namchi, 10 January: The Annual General Meeting of Rong Bul Farmers Producers Cooperative Society Ltd. was held at Rong Bul with the Chief Guest of the programme as Honourable Zilla Territorial Member Shri. Passang Lepcha along with the Honourable Panchayats of the five wards. Officials present in the programme were AGM- NABARD Shri. Rupen Lamichaney, Senior Scientist and Head KVK Shri. I. P. Shivakoti, Deputy Director (Horti.) Dr. Srijana Pradhan, HDO-Rong Bul, Co-Operative Inspector and other line department field functionaries, BOD’s, CEO’s and 117 household members of the concerned FPO.
After the formal start of the programme, the inauguration of the FPO Office was also done by the Chief Guest. During the programme the audited Report was presented before the house by CEO Leela Chettri. She also mentioned that the business being run is on a positive note and detailed about the future work plan as per the Business Development Plan made by the FPO. She also spoke about the processing and marketing of the pulse crop – ‘Paheli dal’ a potential crop in the area to be initiated by the FPO
All line department officials expressed their satisfaction of the work done by the FPO and gave consent on the upliftment of the FPO through the convergence of the various departmental schemes. Stress was made to go for joint marketing in every product including dairy sector and also to start processing activities which would fetch higher price in the market. AGM NABARD said that NABARD would sponsor more schemes to the FPO and motivated the FPO members to work collectively. The Chief Guest was very impressed with the programme and the activities carried by the FPO for the benefit of the farmers. He assured all possible help and support from the Zilla Panchayat Office for the successful functioning of the FPO.
