Namchi district observes National Youth Week at Sports Authority of India

Namchi, 16 Jan(IPR): The National Youth Week was observed on the occasion of birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda at the Training Centre of Sports Authority of India(SAI),Namchi today.
The programme has been organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra(NYK),Namchi in collaboration with the Sports Authority of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
Present during the programme were Mr B S Malick Incharge NYK, Mr Sumit Bhattacharya, Acting Incharge SAI and other officers from Nehru Yuva Kendra (Namchi)and Sports Authority of India,(Namchi) along with the volunteers from NYK and trainees of SAI.
During the programme, Mr B S Malick briefed the trainees about this week-long programme which commenced on 12th January and will conclude on 19th of January 2024. He also informed about today’s theme that is ’Physical Fitness Day’.
He underscored that National Youth Week is celebrating Pan India to motivate and encourage the youth in field of sports and promote physical fitness and healthy lifestyle across nation. He mentioned that it enables youth to develop leadership quality and social responsibility among youths.
He informed about My Bharat, where youth from the ages of 15 to 29 are invited to register on the website. He informed that it provides a unique effort of integrating Yuva Shakti in building a developed India. It also allows engagement and opportunity for youth to progress in their profession and cultivate positive activities.
