Launching of Technology Week-cum-three days training for CEOs and BoDs of NABARD supported FPOs held at KVK Namthang

Namchi, 23 Jan :Krishi Vigyan Kendra South Sikkim, Namthang organises Technology Week-cum-three days training for CEOs and BoDs of FPOs at KVK premises with the Chief Guest of the Programme as Ms. Kabita Sapkota, APS to HCM Govt. of Sikkim. The inaugural session started with the visit to the exhibition stalls by the Chief Guest and Dignitaries. The exhibition stall was participated by the 6 FPOs and OFPO promoted by KVK with the support of NABARD. KVK along with Soil Testing Lab (STL), ATMA Namchi District also showcased the technologies. The dignitaries present were: Shri Pravin Muley, DGM NABARD RO Gangtok; Shri Purushottam Pradhan, Additional Registrar, Cooperation Department, GoS; Ms. Nisha Rani, Assistant Director, MSME RO Gangtok; Shri Indra Prasad Shivakoti, Sr. Scientist and Head, KVK Namthang. CEOs and BoDs of 7 FPOs and 1 OFPO actively participated in the programme.
At the onset of the programme, Shri Indra Prasad Shivakoti, Head of KVK welcomed the guests and gave a brief outline of the Technology Week-cum-three days training programme. In the technical session, Ms. Nisha Rani, MSME through PPT gave an insight on the various schemes of MSME beneficial for the FPOs. Shri Purushottam Pradhan, Additional Registrar, Cooperation Department, delivered his lecture on the management, audit and working of the FPOs for a successful cooperative society and motivated the CEOs to uplift their FPOs. Shri Pravin Muley, DGM NABARD highlighted on the various schemes of NABARD through PPT and encouraged the FPOs to become more efficient in near future. The Chief Guest of the day Ms. Kabita Sapkota in her address praised the FPOs and thanked KVK for organising the programme for the betterment of farmers of Namchi District. She also spoke about the One Family One Entrepreneur Scheme and urged the FPO members to bring out bring entrepreneur ideas.
After the Agriculture Drone Technology demonstration by Drone Pilot of KVK, Shri Dil Kumar Lamichaney, a programme on Vikasit Bharat Sankalp Yatra was also held at KVK premises. Under the Swachhata programme – agriculture waste management through vermicomposting was also demonstrated. The programme ended with the vote of thanks by Ms. Nissi Gurung, SRF KVK South Sikkim.
