Mr. M Venkatesan Chairman, National Commission for Safai Karmachari, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India chaired the meeting at District Administrative Centre

Namchi, February 23(IPR): Mr. M Venkatesan Chairman, National Commission for Safai Karmachari, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India chaired the meeting at District Administrative Centre, today.
The meeting had the presence of Mr Subash Gimirey ADC Namchi, Mr Pulkit Assistant Collector, Mr Kyondit Lepcha WO Social Welfare Department, MEO Jorethang, Officer from Namchi Municipal Corporation(NMC) along with the Safai Karamcharis of the district.
During the meeting, the Chairman enquired the officers about National Safai Karamcharis Finance and Development Corporation scheme, which is for the all round socio-economic upliftment of the Safai Karamcharis and manual Scavengers and its implementation in the district.
Further, he also stated on various facilities under the guidelines of the commission regarding insurances provided by the government including uniforms, toolkits, health and hygienes.
Likewise, he also interacted with the safai karamcharis and addressed their grievances. In addition, he urged the officers to work in coordination and extend every possible support to the Safai Karamcharis of the district.
