Final day of the first round of training for Counting Supervisors, Assistant and Micro Observers Concludes at Namchi district
Namchi, May 15 (IPR): The final day of the training session for Counting Supervisors, Counting Assistants and Micro Observers was held at the Conference Hall of District Administrative Centre Namchi, today.
A total of 120 participants attended the training session.
The training session was facilitated by Ms Bhumika Chettri, Deputy Secretary Election Cell Namchi -SLMT, Tshering Norgyal Theeng SDM Yangyang -SLMT and DLMTs.
Bhumika Chettri SLMT, on her PowerPoint presentation highlighted rules and regulations for counting officials, covering various aspects like handling postal ballots, Electronically Transmitted Postal Ballot System (ETBPS), Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs).
Her key points included legal provisions, table layouts, duties of officials in the counting table and the roles of Counting Supervisors, Assistant and micro observers. She also stressed the importance of maintaining vote secrecy and outlined the timeline for starting the EVM and Postal Ballot count.
Additionally, practical demonstrations were given on Form 13 A, 13 B,13 C and 17 C.
Mr Tshering Norgyal Theeng SLMT further addressed the gathering through wide range of topics, he also highlighted the directives from the Election Commission of India (ECI) concerning the setup of counting centres and efficient management of counting procedure in detail.
Furthermore, he informed that officials participating in the counting would receive ID cards, which are mandatory for entry into the premises.
