MoS for Rural Development, Government of India attends the virtual release of 17th installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna, 2024 at KVK, Namthang
Namchi, June 18(IPR): The Minister of State for Rural Development, Government of India Mr Kamlesh Paswan attended the virtual release of 17th installment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna 2024, by the Prime Minister of India Mr Narendra Modi at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Namthang today.
The virtual release had the presence of Ms Benu Gurung Special Secretary RDD, Mr Subash Gimirey ADC (HQ)Namchi, Mr Rinzing Gyaltsen Chief Engineer RDD South-West, Dr C P Rai ADC Dev Namchi, Mr Sunil Mothey ADC Dev Ravangla, Mr I P Shivakoti Senior Scientist KVK Namthang, Mr Suman Majumdar Deputy Secretary Rural Development Government of India along with others officers from the line departments and the progressive farmers of the district.
While addressing the gathering, the MoS informed that the release of 17th installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna, 2024 is solely dedicated to empower farmers of the country. He added that this scheme is launched in the year 2019, which is an initiative taken under the direction of Prime Minister of India that provides farmers up to Rs 6,000 per year as minimum income support.
Under this initiative, he informed an amount of Rs 6,000 is disbursed to all farmers in three installments over the course of the year and has significantly benefitted farmers by providing financial support directly to their bank accounts through this scheme.
It may be mentioned here that this 17th installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna received benefits amounting Rs 20,000 crore to more than 9.26 crore farmers by the Prime Minister from Varanasi. He also distributed the certificates to more than 30,000 SHGs trained as Krishi Sakhis to work as agriculture para extension workers.
