MoS of Rural Development Government of India chairs meeting with DLO under Namchi district

Namchi, June 18(IPR):The Minister of State for Rural Development, Government of India Mr Kamlesh Paswan chaired a review meeting with District Level Officers(DLO) regarding various central schemes under Rural Development at Banari Residency, Namchi today.
The meeting had the presence of Ms Benu Gurung Special Secretary RDD, Mr Subash Gimirey ADC (HQ)Namchi, Mr Rinzing Gyaltsen Chief Engineer RDD South-West, Dr C P Rai ADC Dev Namchi, Mr Sunil Mothey ADC Dev Ravangla, Mr Suman Majumdar Deputy Secretary Rural Development Government of India along with others officers from the line departments and representatives from Self Help Groups.
During the meeting, the MoS expressed his gratitude to the state government’s officers and functionaries for their contribution in the development of the state. He apprised upon the exemplary progress of the nation under the leadership of the Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi and his directions to provide employment to every individual with placements through skill development projects . He also highlighted the vision of former Prime Minister Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee in providing road connectivity to every households. He acknowledged the dedication of women and stated that women has the potential to serve the nation. Further, he also interacted with the representatives of Self Help Group and addressed their concerns.
Dr C P Rai ADC Dev Namchi through his PowerPoint presentations briefed the MoS regarding the status of MG-NREGA and mentioned its key priorities, physical and financial progress including the various projects under MG-NREGA. In addition he also mentioned about the status of Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojana(PMAY), which provides houses to all eligible beneficiaries.
Further, Mr Subash Cintury Additional Chief Engineer detailed about the achievements made under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), which provides connectivity to unconnected habitations as a part of poverty reduction strategy. He also informed the MoS about the challenges faced by the region due to the weather conditions.
Additionally, Mr Bishal Rai Mission Director Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDUGKY) explained about the human resource status and financial outlays under skill development department.
Likewise Mr Suraj Sapkota Sikkim State Rural Livelihood Mission spoke about the involvement of women in the upliftment of state through Self Help Group along with the activities covered under social inclusion and social development in the district.
Later, he inspected the Dhara Vikash Project and other rural development projects at Perbing.
