Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang visits Siddeshwar Dham, Namchi

Namchi, August 12 (IPR): Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang-Golay visited Siddeshwar Dham in Namchi today to offer his prayers during the auspicious month of Shravan.
Accompanying the Chief Minister were Madam Krishna Rai, Mr. Bhoj Raj Rai, Minister for Urban Development & Civil Supplies Department, Mr. N.B. Pradhan, MLA and Advisor to the Agriculture Department, Ms. Anjeeta Rajalim, Zilla Adhyaksha Namchi, Mr. Ganesh Rai, Chairman Namchi Municipal Council (NMC), Ms. Sabitri Tamang, Vice-Chairman NMC, NMC Councillors, Ms. Anupa Tamling, DC Namchi, Mr. Subash Ghimirey, ADC Namchi, Mr. Nim Pintso Bhutia, SDM Namchi, Mr. Saran Kalikotay, SDM Namchi, Mr. Narad Sharma, Administrator of SiddheswarDham, along with other officers.
Upon their arrival, Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang and Madam Krishna Rai were warmly received by the temple authorities and local residents.
The Chief Minister participated in traditional rituals, including a special prayer ceremony conducted by the temple priests. He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to seek divine blessings and highlighted the significance of Siddeshwar Dham as a spiritual destination for both locals and tourists. He noted that his visit provided a moment of personal reflection and a chance to pray for the continued prosperity of Sikkim.
Additionally, the Chief Minister joined a tree plantation drive organised by the administration of Siddeshwar Dham. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance the region’s green cover and promote environmental sustainability.
Moreover, the Chief Minister inaugurated a newly established library within the main building of Siddeshwar Dham. The library, featuring a collection of rare and historical texts, is expected to be a valuable resource for researchers, students, and devotees.
During his visit, the Chief Minister also recognised and honoured the staff members of the Dham Administration for their exceptional contributions to the preservation and promotion of the site’s spiritual and cultural heritage.
