Awareness-cum-Distribution Programme of Micro Irrigation System (MI)
Under “Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana” at Sanganath Cluster, Namchi District
Namchi, 28 November: An Awareness areness-cum-distribution programme on the Micro Irrigation System (MI) was organised under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana at Sanganath Cluster in Namchi District.
The programme aimed at promoting the adoption of efficient water management practices among farmers.
The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Riksal Dorjee Bhutia MLA cum Advisor for Building and Housing Department as the Chief Guest, Mrs. Indra Maya Rai Zilla Panchayat, all panchayat members of 47-Sanganath GPU, Mr. Wangyal Lepcha (DDA Namchi), Mr. Arbin Majhi (A.D.O. Jorthang), Mr. BK Rai (A.D.O. Sikkip), BDO Sikkip, and other staff from the Agriculture Department, Sanganath VLW Circle.
A key highlight of the programme was the distribution of 1000-litre poly tanks to 86 beneficiaries. These tanks are intended to support the effective use of the Micro Irrigation System in the region, ensuring that farmers can efficiently manage their water resources.
The event underscored the government’s commitment to improving agricultural practices in the region through the implementation of water-saving technologies.
The efforts under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana will continue to support farmers by making irrigation systems more accessible and efficient, thereby enhancing productivity and sustainability.
