The fifth match of 10th All India Chief Minister’s Gold Cup Tournament kicks-off at Jorethang
Namchi, Jan 13 (IPR): The fifth match of the 10th All India Chief Minister’s Gold Cup Football Tournament was kicked-off and played between International FC Punjab and Singling Sporting Club, at football stadium, Jorethang, today.
Mr N B Pradhan, MLA and Advisor Agriculture Dept, Horticulture Dept, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services and Fisheries Development Departments was seated as the Chief Guest for the day.
Accompanying the Chief Guest were Mr Madan Cintury MLA Salghari-Zoom Constituency and the Chief Patron for Maghey Sankranti Mela, Mr Biren Chandra Rai, Advisor SBS, Mr Yougen Tamang, Press Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr Pavitra Manav, President NJNP, Ms Monika Rai, SDM Jorethang and Officers from line departments.
With a score of 2 to 0 goals after the full time whistle, International FC Punjab advanced to the next game after defeating their opponent.
Mr Manprit Bullar, of the winning team, International FC Punjab, was awarded with the title of Man of the Match for the day.
The Chief Guest was also presented with souvenirs by Namchi District Football Association. The match also witnessed an array of cultural performances during the course of the match.
The tournament is hosted by Namchi District Football Association in association with Sports & Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sikkim Football Association and Maghey Sankranti Mela organising committee and is played in adherence to the guidelines laid down by AIFF.
