Members of 16th Finance Commission of India Visits Namchi District

Namchi, January 22(IPR): As a part of the five days official visit, the members of the 16th Finance Commission of India visited the Siddheshwar Dham at Namchi today.
The distinguished visitors included Ms Annie George Mathew Member and Ms Promila Rajvanshi PPS to Mr Ajay Narayan Jha.
The members were accompanied by liaison officers from the Finance Department of the Government of Sikkim Mr Binod Sharma and Ms Rituja Gajmer.
Upon their arrival, the members were warmly received by Ms Renuka Baraily Panchayat President and Panchayat members of Assangthang GPU, Ms Anupa Tamling DC Namchi,
Mr Nim Pintsho Bhutia SDM (HQ) Mr Saran Kalikotey SDM Namchi, Mr Upendra Rai BDO Namchi, Mr Narad Sharma ADM Siddheshwar Dham, Mr Damber Subba Sr Supervisor Siddheshwar Dham and Purohits of Siddheshwar Dham.
The 16th FC members offered their prayers to the lord Shiva and toured the entire premises of the Siddheshwar Dham.
Thereafter, the team also attended a brief meeting at the conference hall of Siddheshwar Dham, where they interacted with the Panchayat members of the Assangthang Gram Panchayat Unit.
During the meeting, the DC gave the insights into various initiatives of the administration and also informed the members about several schemes and projects led by the administration for the upliftment of the district.
Further, Mr Upendra Rai BDO Namchi, shared about the achievements and status of Namchi Block while also highlighting various activities funded by the Finance Commission. He also discussed several projects and initiatives undertaken to generate funds aimed at improving overall economic growth of the block.
Earlier today, the members also made a visit to Samdruptse to take blessings from the divine being.
