The programme included special awareness under the banner of “POSHAN Pakhwada”, focusing on the importance of the first 1,000 days of a child’s life, management of malnutrition, and promoting a healthy lifestyle within the community.

The event was graced by the Honorable Zilla Panchayat Smt Indira Kr Chettri as Chief guest Panchayat President Ms Geeta Sharma as the special guest, accompanied by the Vice Panchayat President Ms Norzey Lepcha other Panchayat member along with several GPU members as special guests.

During the programme, the chief guest appreciated the commendable services of Anganwadi workers and helpers, encouraged their continued efforts in uplifting the community.

CDPO (Child Development Project Officer) Mr Laxuman Tamang briefed on the critical importance of the first 1,000 days of a child’s life, stressing its lasting impact on a child’s health, growth, and cognitive development.

Similarly,Assistant Director Nutrition Ms Sophia Lepcha spoke on the necessity of nutritious food, while explaining on ways to care for and manage malnutrition and obesity.

Health Educator Madam Sonam Lepcha spoke on Healthy lifestyle and suggested measures to adopt healthier choices.

The programme also featured a display of nutritious food items, green vegetables, and a growth monitoring session, highlighting practical approaches to healthy eating and child care.
