DC Namchi Chairs Review Meeting with Samdruptse Management Committee

Namchi, 28 May (IPR): A meeting was convened today at the District Administrative Centre (DAC), Namchi, to discuss the management and ongoing development of Samdruptse Monastery.
The session was chaired by the DC Namchi and attended by SDM HQ Mr Nim Pintso Bhutia along with members of the Samdruptse Management Committee.
In her address, DC Namchi raised several vital concerns regarding the governance and operational practices at Samdruptse. She underscored the significance of strategic planning and reinforced the necessity of accountability in the preservation and advancement of this important cultural and religious site.
A call for greater transparency in financial management was made, with the DC urging the committee to ensure clear and responsible handling of accounts. She also stressed the importance of introducing a formal billing system highlighting its role in sustaining revenue generation for the upkeep and future enhancement of the site.
The meeting also touched upon ongoing infrastructure improvements, with a specific mention of the renovation work currently being undertaken on the surrounding tiles of the monastery premises.
Additionally, she expressed concern over the deteriorating road conditions leading to Samdruptse, noting the difficulties they pose to both visitors and devotees. She called for urgent attention to be given to road maintenance to ensure better accessibility and visitor experience.
The meeting concluded with a brief review of the ongoing projects and developments at Samdruptse. The collective goal remains to enhance the site’s appeal and uphold its status as a prominent landmark of Namchi.
Additionally, it was decided that, to meet the expenses incurred during the religious programs organized by various stakeholders, a concessional fee will be charged, as approved by the management committee.
