Orange Sapling Distribution Programme under MIDH Scheme at Tingley Cluster, Namthang Block
Namchi, 11 July : A sapling distribution programme was successfully conducted today at Tingley Cluster under the Namthang Block as part of the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) Scheme. The event focused on promoting orange cultivation in the region.
The programme was graced by the esteemed presence of the concerned Area Panchayat President, Mrs. Jas Maya Gurung and Horticulture Development Officer (HDO), Namthang, Miss Choki Sherpa. In her address, Miss Sherpa emphasized the importance of cluster formation in horticulture for better coordination in training, monitoring, and marketing. She highlighted how collective efforts through clusters can enhance productivity, ensure timely support, and improve market linkages for the benefit of the farming community.
Mr. Tanka Ram Gurung, Field Assistant (FA) Horticulture from Tingley, also played an active role in the programme. He assisted in the smooth distribution of orange saplings and advised the farmers to take proper care of the plants to ensure healthy growth and better yield in the future.
The distribution of quality orange saplings marks a significant step towards sustainable horticultural development and income generation for the farmers of the Tingley Cluster.
