PRESS RELEASE FROM BAC TEMI

Namchi, 30 July: As part of the ongoing nationwide saturation campaign aimed at ensuring 100% coverage of key financial inclusion schemes of the Government of India at the Gram Panchayat level—namely, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), and Atal Pension Yojana (APY),a Block Level Bankers Committee (BLBC) meeting was convened today at the Block Administrative Centre (BAC), Temi-Tarku Block.
Present in the Meeting were the BDO himself,representatives from various banks and financial institutions, including the Lead Bank, as well as the Panchayat President of Temi GPU and SHGs federation and members.
During the meeting, the representatives of the bankers’ committee highlighted the importance of financial literacy, particularly the opening of bank accounts, Aadhar seeding, the advantages of insurance coverage, and the judicious use of credit facilities. They also discussed the crucial role of the BLBC in enhancing income-generating opportunities for local residents by identifying viable economic potentials in the area.
Detailed information was shared with the participants on how individuals can avail benefits under the aforementioned schemes through minimal contributions in the form of instalments, thereby promoting financial security and social protection.The representatives from the Lead Bank also requested that all eligible citizens be actively identified and enrolled under these schemes at the earliest.
Additionally, as a part of the proceedings, a cheque under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) was handed over to the family of a recently deceased beneficiary, acknowledging the support extended by the scheme in times of need, which further encouraged the attendees to avail these benefits provided by the government.
