BENEFICARIES UNDER SIKKIM AAMA SASHAKTIKARAN YOJANA AND SIKKIM AAMA SAHAYOG YOJANA OF 08-SALGHARI ZOOM CONSTITUENCY RECEIVES GRANTS.

Namchi, Sept 17 (IPR): In commemoration of the birthday of Hon’ble Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi, and under the guidance and advisory of the Chief Minister, Mr Prem Singh Tamang, beneficiaries of the 08-Salghari Zoom Constituency were provided with grants in the form of cheques under the Sikkim Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana and Sikkim Aama Sahayog Yojana at a programme held today at the Community Hall, Jorethang.
MLA, Salghari-Zoom Constituency and Advisor for Transport and Skill Development Departments Mr Madan Cintury, and the Chief Guest for the programme, in his address, stated that the day holds dual significance, celebrating the birthday of the Prime Minister while also witnessing the disbursement of financial assistance to beneficiaries, aimed at easing their daily lives. He extended his warm wishes and goodwill to all the “Aamas” of the constituency.
He further informed that the process of listing beneficiaries was conducted in a fair and unbiased manner, with due consideration of various eligibility criteria. He highlighted that the schemes are designed to empower women, promote self-reliance, and provide assistance for their day-to-day needs.
He also assured that further verifications will be undertaken to identify any discrepancies and necessary initiatives will be implemented to ensure that assistance reaches the genuinely deserving.
A total of 990 cheques amounting to Rs 20,000 each were distributed under the Sikkim Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana through the Women, Child, Senior Citizens & Divyangjan Welfare Department. The scheme seeks to empower women beneficiaries by extending financial assistance for meeting their basic needs and daily requirements.
Additionally, 75 cheques amounting Rs 4,400 each were distributed under the Sikkim Aama Sahayog Yojana through the Rural Development Department. This support enables women in rural areas to avail and refill up to four LPG cylinders annually.
The distribution of cheques under the Sikkim Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana across different wards and GPUs of the constituency is as follows:
• 367 beneficiaries from NJNP.
• 175 beneficiaries from Mabong-Segeng GPU.
• 146 beneficiaries from Gelling-Baiguney GPU.
• 140 beneficiaries from Samsing-Pipaley GPU.
• 172 beneficiaries from Zoom GPU.
Also present during the programme were Up-Adakshya (Soreng) Mr C B Shah Shankar, Panchayat Presidents, Panchayat Vice-Presidents, Panchayat Members, Advisor (SBS) Mr Biren Chandra Rai, Advisor (Food & Civil Supplies Department) Mrs Bina Rai, OSD to MLA Mr Raju Roshan Pradhan, OSD (Transport Department) Mr Khagendra Rai, SDM (Jorethang) Mr Yogen Syangden, SDM (Mangalbaria) Mr D N Sharma, BDO (Baiguney) Ms Pramila Gurung, Social Welfare Inspectors, Panchayat Inspectors and dignitaries.
