The walk served as a platform to raise awareness about the importance of protecting forests, conserving biodiversity, reducing pollution and fostering a shared sense of responsibility towards safeguarding the environment. Participants carried banners bearing the slogan “The Green Walk – Leaving a Green Legacy,” underscoring the campaign’s message of inspiring greater public engagement in environmental stewardship.

The Forest and Environment Department also appealed to the public to continue supporting environmental initiatives by adopting eco-friendly practices and contributing towards the preservation of Sikkim’s rich natural heritage, ensuring that the State’s pristine environment remains a lasting legacy for future generations.
