A meeting of District Task Force Immunization(DTFI) regarding Intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0 convened at the District Administrative Centre, Namchi

Namchi, 18th July(IPR): A meeting of District Task Force Immunization(DTFI) regarding Intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0 was convened at the District Administrative Centre, Namchi, today.
DC(Namchi)Mr. M. Bharani Kumar chaired the meeting, which had the presence of CMO(Namchi) Dr. S.N Adhikari, DRCHO Dr. B.K Chauhan, Deputy Director(Education)Mrs. Mamta Subba, Assistant Collector(Namchi) Mr. Pulkit along with other officials of the Health & Family Welfare and Women & Child Development Department of the district.
During the meeting, the DRCHO gave a detailed presentation on Mission Indradhanush 5.0, which is focused to strengthen routine immunization to safeguard infants and pregnant women from infectious diseases.
The programme launched under the aegis of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India aims to eliminate vaccine-preventable diseases, such as Hepatitis-B, Rota Virus, Measles, Polio,
pneumonia, Rubella, etc. One of the objectives of the Mission is to cover all the left out and dropped-out infants and pregnant women with regular vaccination and booster dose in the district.
The first round of inoculation will begin from 7th August to 12th August, followed by two more rounds in September and October, respectively.
The meeting also discussed on the preparedness for the extensive coverage of the Mission such as training, planning, and management of the immunization officers. With focus on digitisation as one of the objectives of Indradhanush 5.0, a
portal named U-Win has also been designed to register the name of beneficiaries and record the details of required vaccination. The Mission will also take prepatory measures to curb the spread of diseases in all the high risk areas. Dr. Chauhan also underlined the communication strategies and collaborations as well as the framework of the Mission at National, State, District and Block Level.
The DC(Namchi) enquired about the timelines and the activities carried out under the Mission in the district. He directed the Health officials to ensure active participation of officers and communities, both, particularly at rural areas, stressing on action-oriented plans for effective results.
