A series of sporting events organized by Sports and Youth Affairs Department celebrating the occasion of International Women Day

Namchi, 24th March (IPR): As, a part of celebrating the occasion of International Women Day, 2023 Sports and Youth Affairs Department had organized a series of sporting events in Namchi District commencing from 10th March onwards. Themed ‘Empowering women through Sports’ under ‘Khelo India Dus ka Dum’, aims to promote a healthy lifestyle and encourage everyone to undertake some form of exercise or sports every day.
List of competitions including Badminton, Table Tennis, Karate, Taekwondo, Yoga, Boxing, Volleyball, Archery and Football was played. The participants of the competition was limited to girls who are already enrolled in various games under the guidance of able coaches.
Today, saw a football competition between States Sports Academy Girls Soreng and Girls Khelo India Centre Namchi and wherein the former won with a score of 4-0 goals.
