Namchi, February 18 (IPR): A team led by Mr Saran Kalikotey SDM Namchi along with police personnel conducted an inspection of various snookers room located in Namchi Bazaar and its surrounding areas, today.
The inspection drive was carried out in accordance to circular No. 1546(DC)N/24 Dated:7/10/2024 issued from District Collectorate, Namchi, aiming to ban students’ entry in snookers rooms/ Hotels/Bars/ etc during the school hours.
During the inspection, the team did not find any students or minors inside the snookers house. However, he advised the owners and caretakers to strictly prohibit the entry of minors and students in their pool rooms.
He also instructed them not to allow any college students wearing uniforms to enter their premises. Strict action will be taken against any poolrooms found violating this existing notification.
Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of maintaining good hygiene in the Snookers Rooms and ensuring that their license remain valid and renew their license in time.
Additionally, he also interacted with members of the public present in the pool rooms and encouraged their cooperation with the administration.
