An awareness programme on substance misuse, mental health and moral values conducted by sarathi organisation at VCGL senior secondary school at Ravangla

Namchi, 27th July: An awareness programme on substance misuse, mental health and moral values was conducted by sarathi organisation at VCGL senior secondary school at Ravangla, today. The programme had the presence of Chief Resource Person & Advisor to Chief Minister Mr. Rohit Raj Maharaj along side sarathi vice president Mr. Basan Kumar Bhandari, JD (Education Department) Mr. Suraj Rai, Principal (VCGL SSS) Mr. D.L. Chettri, AD (Ravangla BAC) Mr. Tsewang Gyatso, members of school management committee accompained by panchayats, school staff and students.
Addressing, the programme the resource person Mr. Rohit Raj Maharaj spoke about the dangers of substance abuse thereby encouraging the students to make an informed choice. He highlighted the importance of promoting good health and mental well-being, which the students can achieve via engaging in healthy activities, and seeking support when needed. Moreover, he motivated the students to have a meaningful life and to make Sikkim a better place to live in.
Speaking during the programme Mr. Basan Kumar Bhandari highlighted on the aims and objectives of the sarathi organisation which focuses on eradicating substance abuse in sikkim.
