Bhanu Jayanti Celebration begins with various competitions

Namchi, 11th July(IPR): As a part of 209th Bhanu Jayanti Celebration, Dakshin Sikkim Sahitya Samelan (DSSS) commenced the various Inter- School competition on Ramayan Path, Poem Recitation and Painting at Officer’s Club, today.
The programme was collectively organised by DSSS, Indra Danush Chitrakala Sanstha (IDCS) and Namchi District Administrative Centre.
Present during the competition were President, (DSSS, Namchi) Shri. Dalman D. Gurung, President, (IDCS, Namchi) Shri. Vijay Mani Thulung along with teachers, students and members of DSSS and IDCS.
The winners of these competitions will be awarded prizes and certificates during the main Bhanu Jayanti Celebration on 13th July.
It may be mentioned here that the Bhanu Jayanti is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Adikavi Bhanubhakta Acharya, which falls on 13 of July. Bhanu Jayanti marks an important occasion in Nepali Literature and is celebrated annually as an extravagant cultural festival with literary seminars and programmes.
