BKKS Hosts Bhajan Singing Competition for Biswakarma Puja in Namchi District
Namchi, September 16, 2024 (IPR): The Bishwakarma (Kami) Kalyan Samity (BKKS), in collaboration with the State Level Bhagavan Vishwakarma Puja Celebration Committee, organised a Bhajan Singing Competition for Biswakarma Puja at the local hotel of Namchi, today.
Mr Bhoj Raj Rai, Minister of Urban Development and Food and Civil Supplies, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He was accompanied by Mr Madan Cintury MLA Zoom-Salghari Constituency and Mr. Santa Pradhan Rtd. Secretary, as the Guests of Honour.
Also in attendance were ADC Namchi Mr. Subash Ghimirey, SDM Namchi, Dr. R.B Bishwakarma BKKS State Coordinator, Councillors, participants, students and the members of the organising committee.
Mr Bhoj Raj Rai in his address expressed deep gratitude to the organising committee for their efforts in bringing the community together. He encouraged the Bishwakarma community to embrace unity and continue striving for excellence in today’s competitive world, emphasising the importance of unity. He stressed the need to nurture local talent and give priority to local products, particularly in sports and entertainment, instead of depending on outside resources.
He also addressed the issue of licenses regulation, stating that he would not approve the issuance or renewal of any licenses without proper documentation and cautioned against leasing licenses to outsiders.
Further, he provided information on government subsidies, encouraging the public to take full advantage of these benefits as the modern era offers numerous opportunities away from the government job.
He encouraged the community to actively participate in the “Swachhata Hi Sewa” Campaign 2024, which starts from September 17 to October 2. The campaign, launched by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, carries the theme “Swabhav Swachhata – Sanskaar Swachhata.”
He appealed the public to show their commitment to this important initiative.
BKKS State Coordinator, Dr. R.B. Bishwakarma, in his address, reflected on the organisation’s long-standing role in the welfare of the Bishwakarma community since 1977. He highlighted the BKKS’s recognition as one of the top three volunteering organisation in the state and also noted the achievements of prominent figures from the community. He concluded with blessings from Lord Vishwakarma for all present.
Furthermore, a traditional ornament exhibition was also held alongside the competition, showcasing the community’s rich cultural heritage.
A total of 29 participants took part in the Bhajan Singing Competition, and the winners were:
1st place: Bunu Pariyar
2nd place: Asish Cintury
3rd place: Anjuli Tamang
4th place: Salina Lohar
The winners will be felicitated on the main celebration of Shri Shri Vishwakarma Puja event which is scheduled on September 17 at the same venue.
