Block-Level Health Mela In Kolthang-Tokday GPU

Namchi, 18th April (IPR): A block level health mela commenced at Namchi District from Kolthang- Tokday GPU, today. This mela is being organized by the Health and Family Welfare Department from April 18th to April 22nd in continuation of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ under the guidance of Health Ministry.
A total of 427 patients visited the Health mela which was inaugurated by MLA Rangang Yangang constituency Ms. Raj Kumari Thapa alongside local gentry Mr. Raj Kumar Basnett. Present during the daylong mela were DSO (Namchi)Dr. Urgen Sherpa, Dr Sudeep Pradhan (Medicine), Dr Tenzing Zigmi Bhutia (ENT), Dr Pritika Dahal (MO AYUSH), Dr Roshan Poudyal (Paediatric), Dr Neroline Subba (MO IC Yangang), Mr Asal Rai (Optometrist), Mr Sonam Palzor Bhutia (Pharmacists AYUSH), Dental surgeon from Yangang PHC, IEC Team, Health staffs from Yangang PHC, Lingmoo HWC and ASHAs & AWWs and other officials from concerned line departments.
It maybe mentioned that this block health mela will be held at places namely that of Temi Tarku on 19th April, Ravangla on 20th April, Melli and Namthang on 21st April and at Tokal-Bermiok and Jorethang on 22nd April, respectively.
During, this mela free basic health care services and awareness of government schemes focussing on health benefits will be also conducted. This five day long mela will focus on Ayushman Bharat- Health and Wellness Centres, facilitate creation of Unique Health ID under Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and other health based information will be shared with the visiting patients.
The mela will also provide screening for early diagnosis, basic health care services with drugs and diagnostics, tele-consultation with relevant health specialist and referrals as needed. Screening of the patients would be also done by eye, ENT and dental specialists.
