Boomtar Salleybong GPU under Namchi BAC Conductes Gram Sabha

Namchi, 8 January (IPR) : A Gram Sabha was held at the school ground of Lower Boomtar Primary School, Boomtar Salleybong GPU. The meeting was presided over by the Panchayat President Ms Nirmala Gajmer.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Mr Satish Chandra Rai Area MLA of 11-Namchi Singithang.
Further, the meeting was dignified by the participation of Zilla Panchayat Members, Panchayat Members, Former Chairman, Officers from various line departments, as well as the Assistant Director and staff of GPK.
The Gram Sabha commenced with the arrival of the Chairperson, following which the Ward Panchayat presented the plans under the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) and the Labour Budget of MGNREGA.
Mr Shyam Rai, the Assistant Director cum Panchayat Sachiva, provided a brief overview of the significance of the Sanitation Certificate and Water User Charges. He emphasised the role of these measures in ensuring better resource management and public service delivery.
During the meeting, departmental officers were available to address various queries raised by the public. Among the responses, BDO Namchi, Mr Upendra Rai, elaborated on the works related to the GPDP and MGNREGA schemes. He urged the public to pay the Water User Charges and other fees levied by the GPU, as these funds contribute to raising the Own Source Revenue (OSR), which can then be utilised for the creation of public utilities.
In his address, Mr Satish Chandra Rai highlighted the importance of the Gram Sabha in promoting transparent and collective decision-making. He further stressed the need for high-quality work and urged all departments to maintain standards of excellence in their respective tasks.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the Panchayat President Ms Nirmala Gajmer, who expressed gratitude to all attendees for their participation and contribution to the success of the Gram Sabha.
