Career counselling program for Girls student of class 10 and 12 organised under the banner of ‘Understanding opportunities for shaping my future’ at Namchi Girls’ Senior Secondary

Namchi, 9th March (IPR): Samagra Shiksha, Education Department, Government of Sikkim organised a career counselling program for Girls student of class 10 and 12 under the banner of ‘Understanding opportunities for shaping my future’ at Namchi Girls’ Senior Secondary school, today.
The objective of the programme was to give them advice and educate them on the range of job choices that are accessible to them as well as the actions they may take to follow their aspirations, as they are on the threshold of making important career choices.
The Resource Personnels for the event were Director SCERT Dr. Rabin Chettri, Director Exams and Scholarships Mr. Sonam Denzongpa, Gangtok HQ, Joint Director Higher and Tech Education Mr Gyaltsen Sherpa, Joint Director Samagra Siksha, Education Department Ms. Kabita Moktan, Inspector, Social Welfare Department Mr.Tshewang Topden.
Also present during the program were CEO and Officials of Education Department, Namchi, Principal, Teachers, and Students of Namchi Girls Senior Secondary and Namchi Senior Secondary School.
All the Resource Personnels shared their expertise on a variety of subjects, including the New Education Policy, which has significantly altered the Nation’s Educational System. They discussed the several fresh measures put forth by the administration to raise educational standards and broaden access to it. They also highlighted the In-depth discussions about scholarship opportunities and programs available to students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds. They explained the eligibility requirements and application process for these programs in detail.
Furthermore, the staff guided the students on choosing appropriate courses after completing class 10 and 12, based on their interests and aptitude. They provided information about various vocational programmes that the students could opt for, these vocational programs can equip students with specific skills and knowledge in a particular field.
Overall, the career counselling programme was a resounding success. With more initiatives like this, Sikkim’s student will be better equipped to take charge of their future and achieve their dreams.
