Celebration of Golden Jubilee, 2023 of Government Junior High School, Namlung at Ravangla

Namchi, 30th October(IPR): The Chief Minister Mr .Prem Singh Tamang attended the closing ceremony of Golden Jubile Celebration,2023 at Government Junior High School Namlung, today.
He was accompanied by the Minister for the Education Department Mr. Kunga Nima Lepcha, Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Department, Mr. Bedu Singh Panth, Area MLA, Barfung Constituency, Mr. T. T Bhutia, MLAs Ms. Farwanti Tamang and Ms. Raj Kumari Thapa, Chairpersons, Zilla Adhakshya Ms.Anjeeta Rai, Former MLAs, panchayats and HODs of line departments along with teachers, students and public at large.
Addressing the gathering, the chief minister expressed his appreciation and congratulated the entire committee for the glorious 50 years after its establishment, which marked the historic moment in the state. He also acknowledged the dedication of those who have worked immensely in the development of the school.
Further, he informed that this region holds a great significance in the tourism sector, he urged the public to promote tourism in the area. He also encouraged the parents to enroll their children in order to increase enrollment and enhance necessary benefits from the school.
He assured the public that the needs and demands of the region would be executed on priority, including upgradation and extension of roads, improvisation of schools infrastructure, beautification of titanic park, construction of bridge connecting Barfung and Tashiding.
At the outset, Area MLA cum chief patron Mr. T T Bhutia expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister for gracing the event and acknowledged the efforts of the teachers , who have been working tirelessly in providing quality education to the students.He also applauded and highlighted the developmental projects of the state government in the constituency.
During the programme, the biography of the school was highlighted, where it was informed that the school’s first committee was formed in the year 1973 and the school was established in the year 1974. The school land was donated by the Ralong, Karma Rabtenling Monastery and the first teacher assigned in the school was Mr. Devi Lal Rai.
The day also witnessed the final match of Lt. Dorjee Tshering Bhutia Men’s open football match which was played between Dojak FC vs RFC Rabong, where Dojak FC stood victorious with the score 2-1.
Similarly, Lt. Zimdar Bhutia Memorial women’s football match was also displayed between Namlung Girls and Phamtam Girls, where, Phamtam Girls won the match by 6-0.
Likewise, the Chief Minister was felicitated by the organising committee along with other alumnus, land donor and local gentry, who have contributed in the overall upliftment of the school.
Earlier today, the Chief Minister also inspected the entire school premises and interacted with the teachers and students.
