Celebration of Hindi Diwas at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Namthang

Namchi, 14th September: Hindi day is celebrated in India to commemorate the date 14th September 1949 on which a compromise was reached – during the drafting of the Constitution of India on the languages that were to have official status in the Republic of India.
Hindi Diwas was observed at Krishi Vigyan Kendra on 14th September 2023. On this occasion the Chief Guest was graced by Hon’ble Panchayat Shri Khem Raj Timsina. Other officials present were Senor Scientist and Head Shri Indra Prasad Shivakoti, Soil Testing Lab (Incharge) ADO Shri Yograj Pradhan, Subject Matter Specialists of KVK, Administrative and Supporting Staff of KVK. The progamme was also attended by the field functionaries and office assistants of KVK, Soil Testing Lab and Horticulture Department. At the outset of the programme the guests were welcomed followed by a brief outlook on the importance of Hindi Diwas by Senior Scientist and Head Shri I. P. Shivakoti. To mark the occasion eventful an essay competition was also held which witnessed the active participation of the office sub-ordinates.
An exciting quiz competition was also organised wherein all those present in the programme energetically participated in the competition. The quiz event was coordinated by Ms. Ambika Bhattarai, Stenographer of KVK South Sikkim.
The Hindi Diwas concluded with the distribution of the prizes for the essay competition. The master of ceremony of the programme was Ms. Nissi Gurung, SRF, KVK South Sikkim.
