Chief Medical Officer (Namchi) and District Health Education Officer (Namchi) visited various temporary relief camps under namchi district

Namchi, 5th October (IPR): Chief Medical Officer (Namchi) Dr. S. N. Adhikari and District Health Education Officer (Namchi) Ms. Roshni Thapa visited the various temporary relief camps under namchi district, today. They, with the officials and staff visited camps namely Pranami Mandir (Namphing) where approximately 495 people are stationed, thereafter, they proceeded to Mahamati Prannath Sathsang Bhawan Relief Camp (Upper Chalamthang) wherein, approximately 44 people have been accommodated. Thereafter, the team headed towards Rekep Primary School (Lower Chalamthang) in which approximately 25 people have been lodged.
In, the aftermath of the disaster, the team headed by CMO imparted advisories to individuals who have been put up in relief camps. He disseminated information regarding measures to be taken during the treatment of wounds and ways to control any other communicable diseases in the camp and also counselled the victims including pregnant women. Health advisories on infectious disease prevention and control, safe drinking water, hygiene measures and vector control have also been shared.
Additionally, during the visit, one dengue positive case and one patient with ankle fracture were immediately referred to Namchi District Hospital.
It maybe mentioned that the medical team are extending all support, offering medical assistance to needy persons currently staying at temporary relief camps.
The CMO was accompained by the stationed Medicial Officers of various camps, team of mobile vehicle clinic and ASHA workers of the respective, areas.
