Cleanliness Drive Organised by Namchi BAC at JNMI Boomtar
Namchi, September 17 (IPR): The Block Administrative Centre (BAC) conducted a cleanliness drive today at the Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Institute (JNMI) Boomtar.
The initiative saw participation from Mr Ganesh Rai Chairman of the Namchi Municipal Council, Mr Upendra Rai BDO of Namchi, Ms Deepti Pradhan DIO of Namchi and staff from both the BAC and JNMI Boomtar.
During the event, Mr Ganesh Rai underscored the significance of the ongoing campaign, Swacchata Hi Seva 2024, promoting the slogan “Sunawlo Sikkim Samridhi Sikkim”. He further stressed the necessity of maintaining cleanliness throughout the district.
The BDO Namchi elaborated on the campaign’s focus on public participation and the recognition of sanitation workers. He noted that the campaign was officially launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will be observed from 17th September to 2nd October, encouraging citizens to commit to cleanliness. Furthermore, he introduced the “Safai Mitra Suraksha Shivirs,” which aim to promote the health and social security of sanitation workers through preventive health check-ups.
The event concluded with the pledge for Swacchata Hi Seva 2024 administered by Mr Ganesh Rai stressing on the commitment to a cleaner environment.
