Co-ordination meeting of Namchi District Zilla Panchayat and all GPUs of Nandugaon BAC at Tinik Chisopani GPU premises

Namchi, 19th September: A co –ordination meeting of NDZP and all GPUs of Nandugaon BAC was held at Tinik Chisopani Gram Panchayat Unit under the chairmanship of the Hon’ble Adhyaksha NDZP Ms. Anjeeta Rai and co chaired by the Hon’ble Upa- Adhyaksha Mr. Bikash Tamang.
To make this co ordination meeting successful all the Hon’ble Zilla Territorial Members, Sabhapati and Upa- Sabhapati of Denchong, Tinik Chisopani,Salghari and Poklok GPUs and BDO and AE Nandugaown BAC and all the staffs of GPUs were present.
This meeting was intended to establish a perfect communication and co-ordination between the functioning of GPUs and Zilla Panchayat that would probably minimize the gap in between and achieve the objectives of Panchayati Raj in true sense.
To initiate a mechanism that shall resolve the grievances/ difficulties faced / demands and related issues of the GPUs at ZP level and re address the pertaining issue to the higher level whenever essential or unresolved at District Level.
To establish a transparency between GPUs and ZP on role and responsibility both in terms of individual accountability and finance and to strengthen the power and responsibility of GPUs and streamline and outreach the participation of people on Gram Sabhas so as to judiciously maximize the disbursement of developmental programmes of both the State as well as the Centre to the people of Nandugaown BAC without bias and duplication.
Find outs and resolutions madedyring the meeting were less or absence or sending lower level subordinates by the line departments on Gram Sabhas that usually slow down the decision making on implementation of schemes and therefore it is made compulsory that all the GPUs, in co ordination with the BDO, should make the schedule of Gram Sabha and intimate the Zilla Panchayat office that shall further be made sure of the official participation.
Dong Denchong GPU,since newly formed, is running short of staffs and also without GPK building for which the concerned is asked to find a suitable land and place a demand letter to the authority through BDO. The Zilla Panchayat shall pursue the same to the higher level.
The Departmental tenders of various schemes are being done outside and therefore the NOC of the concerned panchayat is not required/ valued or even asked and hence losing the power of control over the contractor’s monopoly. Therefore if the Tenders are being floated at GPU level the quality of work as well as the OSR could be raised to run the GPU little effectively. As such it is advised to maintain the equilibrium between the local contractors as well as the Departmental perspective over the tenders however, the Zilla Panchayat shall further clear about the matter after co-ordinating with the Departments so that the delicate fiber of good faith shall remain intact.
At the end Hon’ble Adhyaksha invited all the Hon’ble members of all 4 GPU to the 3 day Panchayat Sammelan 2023 that is going to take place w.e.f 6th Oct. to 8th October 2023.
