Collective Commitment to Cleanliness: ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ Initiatives in Namchi
Namchi, 21 September (IPR): Under the banner of “Swachhata Hi Seva,” various initiatives were undertaken by the Gram Panchayat Units (GPU) under Block Administrative Centre (BAC) Namchi to promote cleanliness and community
The Panchayat President of all GPUs administered the Swachhata Pledge.
Present during the event were Zilla Panchayat Members, Self Help Groups (SHGs), ASHA Workers, Anganwadi Workers, Staff members of all GPUs under Namchi and local public.
To inspire and motivate the general public towards keeping the environment clean Mr Satish Rai Former Chairman of the Skill Development Board at Rong Bul GPU, Ms Roma Tamang Former Chairman of the SCPCR at Mickhola Singithang GPU, Mr Tashi Tamang Former Chairman of Building and Housing at Boomtar Salleybong GPU and Mr Gaden Tshering Bhutia Former Chairman of Forest at Maniram Phalidara GPU conducted series of cleanliness drives at identified blackspots.
Similarly, a dedicated cleanliness drive was also organised at the District Veterinary Poly Clinic in Namchi, led by the Joint Director and staff members.
The “Swachhata Hi Seva” campaign exemplifies a collective commitment towards maintaining cleanliness and fostering a spirit of community service. The active involvement of leaders and the public highlights the importance of collaboration in achieving a cleaner and healthier environment.
