Concluding 6th day Chintan Shivir on Aspirational Block Programme for Namchi block conducted at Village Administrative Centres at Assangthang and Mickkhola Singhithang

Namchi, 15th September: As per the direction of the DC Namchi District , Shri M. Bharani, the concluding 6th day Chintan Shivir on Aspirational Block Programme for Namchi block was conducted today at Village Administrative Centres at Assangthang and Mickkhola Singhithang respectively.
The slogan for the program was ‘Aspire to Inspire’. The programme was attended by Hon’ble Zilla and Gram Panchayat members of both GPUs. Headmasters of Schools representatives from various line departments, SHG members, AWWs, and ICDS members alongwith general publics of respective GPUs.
Informing about the program, WO, Namchi said that Namchi block is amongst 500 blocks selected under the Aspirational Block Program by NITI AAYOG, Govt. of India . He also informed that 3 blocks from Sikkim has been selected as Aspirational Blocks. The Aspirational Block Programme is monitored by Niti Aayog.
The programme will be focusing on 9 sectors , 5 themes and 39 key Indicators . The 9 sectors are as follows: Health, Nutrition, Education, Agriculture, Social Development, Basic Infrastructure, Drinking Water, Sanitation and Financial inclusion.
Furthermore, he also informed that the objective of the program is to make a Block Development Strategies (BDS) finding the critical gaps and outline the priorities in each sector of the blocks and services that will be offered to public while making the best possible use of existing resources and bring saturation . The steering committee under the chairmanship of District Collector, Namchi has been formed comprising of Head of office of Namchi District to supervise and monitor the task based upon the people’s need. The Chintan shivir would help to bring stake holders together to analyse the existing situation , identify and prioritise key interventions for key sectors and agree on strategy for accelerated implementation of schemes .
The date line to submitt the BDS setup by NITI Aayog is 2nd of October 2023 and to bring all saturation to the basic need of society is 2 years, he added.
The gathering was divided into 5 groups according to the themes and was made to discuss about the indicators and bring up the strength, weaknesses, opportunities ..A leader among the group was chosen and in the later part , the leader deliberated their outcomes of discussion .
In the end CDPO also briefed about the program and requested all Honble representatives and public to coordinate with the officials to bring fruitful result and inspire others .
