Coordination cum preparatory meeting on Jal Shakti Abhiyan-catch the rain,2023 conducted at the District Administrative Centre

Namchi, 31st May(IPR): A coordination cum preparatory meeting on “Jal Shakti Abhiyan (JSA) : catch the rain, 2023”, themed, ‘Source Sustainability for Drinking Water’ was conducted at the District Administrative Centre, today.
The meeting was chaired by Director, Ministry of Home Affairs cum Chief Nodal Officer Ms. Monalisa Dash. She was accompanied by ADC (Dev, Namchi) Dr. C.P Rai, ADC (Dev, Ravangla), Mr. Sunil Mothey, SDM (Namchi) Mr. Mahendra Chettri, Scientists (Hydrogeologist) Mr. Bibhuti Bhusan Saha, Chief Nodal Officer of JSA (Namchi) Mrs.Sumitra Subba, BDOs under Namchi district alongside officials from the line departments.
During the meeting ,ADC (Dev, Namchi) Dr. C.P Rai presented a PPT presentation, wherein, he gave a brief report on the background of the scheme. He further shared the status of Jal Shakti Mission and its successful implementation in the district.
Moreover, he also detailed about Dhara Vikash, Amrit Sarovar projects, plantations, rain water harvesting, water harvesting tanks for the management, conservation and sustainability of water resources. In-addition, he apprised the contribution of line departments in the upliftment of Jal Shakti Abhiyan.
During the course of the meeting various discussions and suggestions was put forth by the Chief Nodal Officer, Ms. Monalisa Dash. She also informed the officials about the innovative ideas and measures which can be adopted in minimising the shortage of water in the district.
Additionally, the Chief Nodal Officer along with the other officials visited Jal Shakti Kendra and inspected various other projects sites including, rooftop rain water harvesting at Assangthang and Dhara Vikash project at Maniram, Alley ward.
