Coordination Meeting Held for ‘Cleaner Sikkim’ Cleanliness Drive to Mark 50 Years of Statehood

Namchi, May 20 (IPR): A coordination meeting was conducted at the District Administration Centre (DAC) Namchi to finalise preparations for the upcoming cleanliness drive, ‘Cleaner Sikkim: Marking 50 Years of Statehood, One Step at a Time.’ The drive is scheduled to take place on May 24 along the Jorethang to Melli highway.
The meeting was chaired by Additional District Collector (ADC) Namchi Mr Subash Ghimirey. During the session, a detailed briefing was conducted for the cleanliness drive, with specific areas assigned to different departments to ensure effective implementation of the drive. The event is set to be carried out within a one-hour timeframe.
ADC emphasised the need for unity and coordination among departments for the success of the initiative, which marks Sikkim’s 50 years of statehood. He also stressed safety measures during the drive and requested the Health Department to deploy first aid teams as a precaution.
The meeting saw the participation of Heads of Offices (HoOs), representatives from various departments, and NGOs, showing their support for the campaign.
