Dam Site inspection at Samatar Jorethang in compliance to the DAM Safety Act 2021

Namchi, 3rd August: SDM (Jorethang) Ms. Saloni Pradhan, DPO (DDMA) Namchi Mr. Saran D.Kalikotey, RO/AD Jorethang Mr. D.N Sharma and representative from DANS Hydro project visited and inspected DAM SITE at Samatar Jorethang. This visit had been done in compliance to the DAM Safety Act 2021 and Home Departments Notification No.26./Home /2015 Dated 22/6/2015 prescribing the guidelines of Public Safety at Hydro Power Project.
The visiting Team sensitized and checked the existing guidelines put in place by the State Government so as to assure the proper compliance. The periodic inspection and evaluation of Dams and reservoirs is of considerable importance for public Safety residing below the Dams site.The visiting teams also checked the standing operating procedure. The inspecting team visited the DAM site to asses the measures adopted by the management for the safety and security of Public residinh below the DAM. The team inspected the different location like spillways, control room, DAM structure, total inflow and outflow and other precautionary measures. The visiting team instructed the management to erect the barbed fencing (Barricades) around the DAM in order to avoid untoward incident.
