DC Namchi chairs a Coordination meeting for Maghey Sankranti Mela, 2025

Namchi, January 10 (IPR): Ms Anupa Tamling DC Namchi chaired a coordination meeting with all Heads of Offices for the upcoming Maghey Sankranti Mela, 2025, at the District Administrative Centre Namchi, today.
Present during the programme were, Dr S N Adhikari CMO Namchi, Ms Monika Rai SDM Jorethang, Mr Praveen Gautam SDM Namthang, Mr Manish Gurung PS Jorethang, Mr Karchung Bhutia ACE Power, Mr Deewash Gurung JE Road and Bridges Department, Mr Joel Rai Fire and Emergency Services, Mr Suraj Rai DPO Land Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Mr Abhishek Chettri Labour Department, Mr Sanjit H Subba Labour Department, Mr Mohan Chettri Labour Department, Mr Tempa Sherpa SSP Officer, Ms Pema W Bhutia DCPO Namchi, Ms Megha Pradhan Protection Officer Namchi, Mr D K Pradhan Excise Department.
Ms Anupa Tamling DC Namchi, in her address discussed on the various roles and responsibilities, assigning specific duties to the departments, placements of departmental camps and asked them to collaborate closely with the Police Department during the Maghey Mela celebrations.
Additionally, she emphasised on strict vigilance during the celebrations, which includes monitoring grey areas, installation of floodlights, ensuring unobstructed access for fire trucks, prohibiting child labor, securely barricading entry and exit points, and refraining from granting stall registrations to unauthorised vendors. She also highlighted the necessity of providing separate mobile toilets for men and women, conducting timely inspections and testing of food quality, and ensuring the availability of sufficient electricity, water, and emergency first aid services throughout the venue to provide immediate assistance and maintain order during the 24-hour Mela celebration from January 14 to January 21.
Additionally, she directed the HoOs to collaborate effectively, which would facilitate the delegation of their responsibilities. She also requested a report detailing the total number of staff to be assigned during the celebrations and recommended the formation of two teams to cover day and night shifts.
Futhermore, she also emphasised the importance of remaining alert and exerting effort to uphold peace during the celebrations, with a particular focus on protecting children and women. This approach aims to enhance safety and reducing the risk of any unfortunate incidents.
