DC Namchi chairs a review meeting regarding Jal Jeevan Mission
Namchi, November 12 (IPR): Namchi District conducted a review meeting in the district collector’s chamber, today to discuss the concerns regarding Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).
The meeting was chaired by Ms Anupa Tamling DC, Namchi. Also present during meetings were Mr Nim Pintso Bhutia SDM (HQ), BDOs, JE, AE, ISA, under Namchi District.
The primary focus of the meeting was to assess the developments made under the mission over the past year and to address key issues that could impact its future success in the region.
During the meeting, officials reviewed the progress and challenges of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), which aims to provide safe drinking water to rural households. They discussed both the successes and the difficulties faced in implementing the mission in Namchi District.
The key issues included the need for better water management, the protection of local water sources, getting the community more involved in water conservation efforts, geo tag, uploading completion reports and mismatch of figures.
DC Namchi stressed the importance of protecting water sources for sustainable future and encouraged everyone, especially the Block Development Officers (BDOs), to focus on the mission’s goals and make sure water projects are carried out properly.
Additionally, she encouraged the BDOs to designate Nal Jal Mitras, who emphasize village-level issues, and to provide them training, in order to ensure high-quality work.
The purpose of this meeting was to directly address the issues identified with the Jal Jeevan Mission, ensuring that appropriate solutions are implemented promptly.
