DC Namchi chairs meeting under HUB for women empowerment at DAC

Namchi June 12(IPR): Women and Child Development Department, Namchi conducted meeting with line departments under HUB for women empowerment held at District Administrative Centre, today.
The meeting was chaired by Ms Annapurna Alley DC(Namchi), Sr SP Dr T N Gyatsho, Dr C P Rai ADC Dev Namchi, Dr SN Adhikari CMO Namchi, Mr Suraj Rai CEO Education Department and Officers from line departments.
The prime focus of the meeting was to provide HUB for empowering women,to promote a defined sense of self worth and the ability to determine their own choices.
During the meeting Ms.Sophia Lepcha highlighted about the significance of establishing Hub for women empowerment. She added that the scheme started in the month of March 2024 which allows women to make life changing decisions through many social platforms initiating awareness through various programmes pertaining to different aspects like menstrual hygiene, social development skills and promoting a healthy lifestyles.
She further stated that HuB provides platforms to women who come from underprivileged backgrounds to be independent and make small but impactful changes in their lives. HUB also provides safety and security not only to women but also to all girl child.
During the meeting, the DC advised various ways to implement HUB and spread awareness through many social platforms and agreed on full corporations from the administration.
Similarly, Sr SP suggested on ideas to provide women employment through skill development programmes and ensured measures to provide safety and security to women in the district.
Mr C P Rai enhanced on manufacturing products that are bio-degradable and eco-friendly through skill development schemes which not only employ women but also protect the ecosystem.
In addition, Mr Suraj Rai advised on promoting counselling sessions at different educational platforms and spreading more social awareness among the students.
