Debriefing of the Pre-Moonsoon Visit of the Central Team on JSA:CTR held at Namchi District Administrative Centre

Namchi, 2nd June(IPR): A two-member Central team on ‘Jal Shakti Abhiyan Catch the Rain, 2023’ JSA:CTR visited Namchi District from 31st May to 2nd June. The team comprising of Director, Ministry of Home Affairs cum Central Nodal Officer (Namchi District) Ms. Monalisa Dash and Scientist(Central Ground Water Board) Mr Bhusan Saho visited various places under JSA located in the district.
The debriefing of the Pre-Moonsoon Visit of the Central Team on JSA:CTR consisting of officials from line departments was held at Namchi District Administrative Centre, today. Present amongst others were
ADC(Namchi) Mr. Anant Jain, ADC (Dev, Namchi) Dr. C.P. Rai, ADC (Dev, Ravangla) Mr. Sunil Mothey along with BDOs and other officials of line departments.
Addressing, the session Central Nodal Officer directed the officials to coordinate and bring out attainable and sustainable solutions to make this nationwide campaign on rainwater a success. Additionally, the officials were also urged to conduct quarterly meetings regarding JSA and to also form a committee to gauge the developments on water conservation. Moreover, she underlined to engage the public as their participation is of the utmost importance for the accomplishment of this scheme.
She was also further briefed about various water conservation projects namely rainwater recharge and renovations of tanks, rooftop rainwater harvesting, Dhara Vikash programme and many others that were carried out over the last year in the district. Further, the attending officials also gave their presentation on the future action plan for the dry belt areas and the rejuvenation of perennial water sources.
