DEO Namchi chaired a meeting with the election agents of the candidates from various Political Parties of Namchi District

Namchi, April 29 (IPR): DEO Namchi Mrs Annapurna Alley chaired a meeting with the election agents of the candidates from various Political Parties of Namchi District at the District Administrative Centre, Namchi, today. The meeting was regarding the collection of Postal Ballots received through the Electronically Transmitted Postal Ballot System (ETPBS) for service voters.
The meeting had the presence of the Returning Officers of the concerned Assembly Constituencies(ACs), Nodal Officer ETPBS, and other Election Officials.
During the meeting, the Nodal Officer ETPBS updated the cumulative data of the ETPBS received from the Post Office, which totaled 265 Postal Ballots cast for all seven ACs of Namchi District till date. Additionally, the Postal Ballots securely kept in the ETBPS boxes were opened and carefully tallied AC-wise before the Election agents, and later the list of the number of Postal Ballots cast till date was also made available to them.
DEO Namchi informed that the ETBPS boxes were maintained safely and that the postal ballots will be counted separately on the day of counting following the instructions of the Election Commission of India (ECI). The DEO stated that the concerned RO will continue to receive the postal ballots till June 2 before 8 a.m.
In the meeting, the doubts raised by the election agents were also explicitly clarified by the DEO and ROs.
